This week/weekend officially opens the holiday season, going from Thanksgiving to Christmas and then on to the New Year.  It usually involves a lot of lists, errands, shopping, organizing, planning, cooking, decorating, more shopping, and well, you get the picture.  Amid all of this busyness, we often neglect what really matters – people!   So “Food For Thought” would like to remind you each day from now until we ring in 2019, to take time to appreciate those in your life that bring you joy, comfort, encouragement, humor, companionship, reassurance, peace and love, whether they be your spouse, children, parents, siblings,  aunts/ uncles and cousins, friends, neighbors, co-workers – oh, the list could go on and on.  When you boil it down, it’s the people in our lives that really matter.  Don’t allow anything to come between you and the people in your life.  Examine differences, disagreements and estrangements that may be separating you from the ones most important to you.  Don’t allow differences to become regrets. Life is too short to waste on things that don’t matter.  Be that person who makes someone feel good about themselves.  Be the kind of friend that you want in your own life.  And smile at people!  It really does make a difference!    ☺
