This week marked the 19th anniversary of 911. If you were alive on September 11, 2001, you will remember the horror that was perpetrated against America. It was an act of pure evil and hatred. It is difficult for most people to even contemplate harboring such hatred toward other human beings. But unfortunately when people are indoctrinated by ideologies that preach hatred towards and even death to those unlike themselves or who don’t believe like they do, the festering leads to eruption. Are we currently witnessing a similar scenario beginning to play out in our cities and streets right now? Although for now it may be on a much smaller scale, the underlying sentiment of hatred is festering and emerging. The one significant difference between then and now is this – 911 was perpetrated by those outside our country. This new insurrection of destruction is coming from our own citizens. And this makes it even more incomprehensible. There are people from countries all over the world longing to come to our shores for the simple reason that America offers freedom! – freedom to pursue happiness. This is something they have never known and will never know if they remain where they are. And those in our nation who are stirring up this hatred for the American way want to turn this nation into what others are so desperately fleeing from. There is only one solution. GOD! Jehovah! El Shaddai! Yahwey Shalom! There is a tremendous call to intercession upon the church today to pray for America. Church leaders and church goers all over the country are answering this call to pray. We must remember that the Word of God in II Chronicles 7:14 begins with this: “IF My people”! Will you answer this call?
13 Let them all praise the name of the LORD. For his name is very great; his glory towers over the earth and heaven! Psalm 148:13 (NLT)
1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life. Genesis 17:1 (NLT)
24 And Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and named it Yahweh-Shalom (which means “the LORD is peace”). Judges 6:24 (NLT)
14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)
