This weekend we celebrate the most important events of the Christian faith – The death of Jesus on the cross and His triumphant resurrection from that death three days later. This was God’s plan of salvation – His plan to bring His people back into a relationship with Him that is unhindered and completely free. No more offerings, no more sacrifices, no veil in between God and his people. Every barrier between God and us was obliterated away and Jesus, as he endured the horrors of the cross, received unto Himself what should have been ours. What a price He paid for our redemption. God’s plan of salvation was almost complete. Oh, God’s part and Jesus’ part was complete. But salvation is a gift and like all gifts , before it becomes yours you must accept it. So our prayer for this Resurrection Sunday is that you have received this wonderful gift of salvation that Jesus so freely gives for you. The one who died for you is King!
10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.” Luke 19:10 (NLT)
9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. Romans 10:9-10 (NLT)
5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. Isaiah 53:5 (NLT)
