Have you ever wanted to get back into someone’s good graces? What does that mean exactly? It usually means you’ve done something to put a wedge between you and them and there’s really nothing you can do to mend it. You have to hope they will extend favor to you on their own. So grace can be defined as favor or blessing that is unearned or unmerited meaning it is not because you’ve been good enough to deserve it. It’s only because of the goodness and graciousness of the person offering it to you. Scripture says we are saved by grace through faith. Salvation is nothing we can earn. There’s absolutely nothing we can do to deserve it. So this wonderful grace is out there so how do we access it? Through faith! You just have to trust God. Christ did everything required for you to “get back into God’s good graces”! You just have to believe it. If you are trying to do “good works” or in other words, trying to be good enough to earn God’s salvation, know that nothing you will ever do could compare to what Jesus has already done on the cross! God knows that and therefore He offers salvation to you through His wonderful grace. Just receive it through faith!
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10 (NKJV)
8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:8-10 (NLT)
